Tony Orlando is the only guest.

*NOTE: From the Syracuse Herald November 23, 1977
"And to hear applause, to hear people appreciate what you do, is the most magical, most wonderful and best medicine God has ever created,"
says Tony Orlando of his imminent return to show business from a self-enforced retirement brought on last July by depression after the death
of his friend Freddie Prinze.
In an exclusive interview granted to his old friend Mike Douglas, the singer sheds new light on the tragic death of Prinze.
He says that the young comic, who killed himself with a revolver last January, definitely had a death wish.
Says Orlando: "He planned it. I've never said this on television. I've never said this ... just to friends ... but Freddie Prinze, in his backyard,
came to me one day after a year of practicing suicide with an empty pistol ... He didn't have a bullet in there, but what he would do was he
would click the gun off at his temple and sometimes, as gruesomely, in his mouth. Sometimes, he would shoot a pistol off, to show you how
... how ill Freddie was.
"If his secretary was in another room, she thought he shot himself. He would be lying on the floor and would get up laughing."
TV interviewer Douglas asks Orlando in the course of their 90-minute discussion if the singer thinks Prinze had a mental problem.
Orlando says: "Yes, he was ill ... you read about his not being able to cope with success at a young age — that was part of it.
You read about a young marriage that was not working out, yes — that was part of it. "But the ultimate part of it was that he found glory in suicide.
He said that he wanted to be a legend; he wanted to be like James Dean."

Orlando goes on to remark that Prinze considered the late Lenny Bruce an idol and that Freddie was so into his "suicide-as-a-legend",
theory that he had even listed the pallbearers he wanted (Johnny Carson, Richard Pryor, David Brenner, Paid Williams and "any other big star you can find.")
Orlando, who kept a 37-hour watch in the UCLA intensive care unit as Prinze was dying, says also that if Prinze had lived, he would have been a vegetable.
"And thank God that the Lord was kind enough to take him in His arms and out of mine."
He says Prinze had taken nine Quaaludes "plus some Courvoisier, on the night he killed himself. So that alone, you know, could have put him into a comatose state.
Drugs are just not conducive to a normal, intelligent lifestyle."
After telling Douglas this, Orlando goes on to discuss his own breakdown and the fact that for a while he tried to conduct his career while on cocaine.
Orlando states that he only dabbled with the drug; he is not actually a drug user and doesn't even drink.
But he found that cocaine worked against has problems. Tony goes on to describe himself as having had a manic-depressive episode and tells of the
frightening 72 hours during which he had himself committed to a New York psychiatric institution and how he was abused by fellow inmates.
Orlando does not name the hospital because he fears a lawsuit. Further, he describes to Douglas the therapy he has received in the past five months,
the good doctors he has had, and the fact that he is now on the mood-stabilizing Lithium. (Orlando got the idea that perhaps Lithium could help him
when he heard director Josh Logan discuss it on a morning TV show and from reading the book "Mood Swing" by Dr. Ronald Fieve.)
