Premise:
Based on the character in the Casey novels by George Harmon Coxe, and the radio series, "Casey, Crime Photographer".
Casey, is a gutsy crime photographer for the "Morning Express", a New York daily newspaper.

Adapted from George Harmon Coxe's novels about Casey, Crime Photographer.
Set in New York City, the live television series centered on Casey of the fictional newspaper: The Morning Express.
He hung out at the Blue Note Cafe, listening to jazz, and recounting his adventures to the barkeep, Ethelbert.
He had a girlfriend, Ann Williams, and had his exploits penned by cub reporter Jack Lipman.

TIME magazine article April 30, 1951.
Crime Photographer, after an eight-year stretch as a radio cops & robbers show,
moves to television without leaving a single clue or cliche behind. News
Photographer Casey, as played by Richard Carlyle, wears his hat on the back of
his head, is a devil with the ladies, and is only halted in his headlong pursuit
of justice by a hush-voiced announcer breathing: "Don't be half-safe, use Arrid!"
