Synopsis:
While writing their letter to Santa Claus, the youngest Ruggles (Donna & Donald)
give the family an idea to help someone less fortunate this Xmas. Eldest
daughter Sharon suggests a schoolmate named Elaine who recently lost her dad.
They surprise Elaine with a home-cooked dinner and their friendship, but they
get a surprise in return. It seems Elaine is quite happy and leads a very full
life. And, wow, is she a great singer. [RL]

Synopsis:
The entire Ruggles family is very evasive about the special event, Chuck's 18th
birthday,
but they take the joke way too far. Chuck takes it personally, and thinks the
family
has forgotten his birthday. When he seeks solace at his girlfriend, Maryann's
house,
she is in on the joke, too. At this point, Chuck is so distraught, he decides to
run
away and join the military. [RL]
