*News Item:
Zsa Zsa also went on to question Jacqueline's looks and recalled some other
embarrassing incidents concerning the former
First Lady. The remarks were made on a recent Merv Griffin Show, syndicated on
television by the Westinghouse Network.
"I knew Jacqueline when she wasn't that beautiful, in the 'fifties," Zsa went
on, as Merv Griffin repeatedly tried to change the
subject or simply ignored her in favor of other guests. ''Do you think she's
pretty? I don't think so.
"But Suppose she loves him?" interjected Merv, hopefully.
"Well." answered Miss Gabor, "he loved her sister for five years, which I know
personally. And the whole world knows it. . .
Onassis is a big businessman who has no time for love. . .Mr. Onassis is not
going to pay his prices for nothing, my dear sir."
When Merv tried to change the conversation again, Zsa Zsa said. "He's
petrified!"
"I'm not petrified, I'm not," answered Merv. "What can Mrs. Onassis do to you?"
Zsa Zsa asked.
"No, I'm just trying to stop you," Merv said. Asked again, he said, "She can't
do a thing."
Zsa: "What can she do to me?"Merv: "Nothing." With Immunity thus established.
Miss Gabor proceeded buoyantly along: "You know. Lee Radziwell said the
stupidest thing any human being ever said.
She said, 'We don't care what the American people think—the main thing is Jackie
should be happy.'
As long as Jackie is happy!
Napoleon took the crown out of the cardinal's hand to crown Josephine. And
Jackie Kennedy took her own crown off
with her own hands, and handed it to Mr. Onassis."
Zsa Zsa then recalled that she had flown back from the Coronation of Queen
Elizabeth II in 1953 with Jackie, who had
covered it as a news photographer.
"Twenty - four hours on the plane she kept asking me—it was no joke!—'What do
you do for your skin?"
And I never bothered to ask her name.
She wasn't the most glamorous nor the most beautiful woman: she had kinky hair,
bad skin.
