and finds a murderer.
Synopsis 2:
Carmichael tracked down a killer and uncovered evidence which resulted in the man's
conviction and a life term.
When the mangled body of a man was found on the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad tracks,
it was at first assumed his death was accidental. But Carmichael established from evidence
at the scene of the crime that the victim was beaten and his body put on the rails to cover
up the murder. Following a lead from the railroad construction gang, Carmichael hunted the slayer.

and the other to honeymoon suite at Niagara Falls, N.Y. When the robbers denied
their guilt, Wells aided police in an ingenious ruse that resulted in complete confessions.

who was tried and sentenced. The killer smashed his way out of prison, resolved
to kill the reporter responsible for his conviction, but finally was trapped.

Synopsis 2:
Returning to his apartment, a night-shift worker found his wife strangled
to death, his small son incoherent with fear. Riordan, arriving with police,
learned a prowler had startled many of the other residents in the housing
project, but they had neglected to report his minor offenses.
Neighbors were fingerprinted in an effort to unmake the killer and trained
bloodhounds were employed to track him down. Even the dogs make an
amazing but subsequently understandable error before they led Riordan
and police to the door of the killer.

When the burned automobile of a Cleveland chemist was found
at the riverbank, police assumed that dangerously explosive
chemicals had damaged the car and blasted the man's body
into the water. Since the corpse was not recovered insurance
company officials refused immediate payment of the destitute widow's claim.

Synopsis 2:
When an ex-convict was found shot to death in a typical gangland ride killing, tire tracks
in the soft earth were the only clue. Working with this lead Billy Hout followed an almost
unbelievable trail.
His thorough job of amassing facts and evidence revealed two outstanding, highly-respected
citizens involved in a housing racket whose take depended directly upon the murder of those
unfortunates who accepted their "aid".

who was soon to become the suspect's bride accused Clifford of railroading an innocent
man to his death. The reporter's determined investigation brought the truth to light.
Also known as: "Case of the Innocent People".

the New York Homicide Squad. He was himself a special agent in the Criminal Investigation
Division during World War II.

determined that his sight was poor. Reporter Winge began his
investigation on a hunch, gathering up the meager clues and persisiting
until the killer found himself trapped in a web of lies.

A woman's body was found in a shallow grave in a city refuse yard.
The coroner's report indicated that although the woman had suffered brain
injuries they had not caused her death, she had been buried alive.
Mills combed the missing persons file and was instrumental in identifying the
victim. He proved that the most likely suspect had an iron-clad alibi.
Combining logic and leg-work, he was able to lead authorities to the killer.
