Premise
A 44 yr old divorced lawyer Rosie O'Neill (Sharon Gless) gives up her
well-paid job as a lawyer to become a public defender.

Background:
Sharon Gless had previously starred in the successful
police drama series 'Cagney and Lacey' 1982-88
Edward Asner had previously starred in the newspaper drama series
'Lou Grant' 1977-82 before he joined the cast
as a grumpy ex-policeman Walter Kovacs in the second season.

Theme song 'I Wish I Knew' sung by Carole King written by Melissa Manchester.

Sharon Gless won the 1991 Golden Globe award for the Best Performance
