'Showoffs' leaves host in ecstasy
If being happy were illegal, Bobby Van would be arrested. Van's euphoria these
days is paradoxical, as he is convinced
that hosting the ABC Television Network's free-wheeling new game show, "Showoffs",
which airs Monday-Friday (12noon-12:30pm)
could well be the most hectic struggle in the entertainment arena.
He explains, "Nobody sits down on this show, not for a second. 'Showoffs' is a
game of body language, with wildly expressive people,
both the celebrities and the contestants, acting out clues to words and phrases.
If we had a chandelier, they'd be swinging from it.
You don't know what's going to happen, except that it will be unexpected.
"My job is to set the pace, the mood, run the show. My mind is going 90 miles a
minute, in 700 areas."
