offers Cathy a job at the ranch and seems to want to mold her into what
Ciji was, which freaks Laura out. Both Karen and Diana are acting
strangely; by episode's end we discover that Karen's behavior is because of
the drug she is taking, and Diana's behavior is because she is hiding

the burial! Karen's behavior due to the drugs is beginning to become

grills Laura for information on the goings-on at Gary Ewing Enterprises,

Abby's siphoning off money, but he does discover that Abby has been writing

an offer to report from Central America. When Gary discovers that Cathy
served time in prison for murder, he tests Abby by asking her to find out
more about Cathy's background. Mack sees Laura pick up a package sent to

to rejoin the Crime Commission to snoop around. Suffering her own private

On a book tour in New York, Val is told by a mystery man that Gary is alive and that she should expect a phone call from
Mark St. Claire when she gets back to Knots Landing. Mark approaches Karen directly, telling her that four events were
going to play out in the near future:

1. Diana will cancel her lunch appointment with Karen,
2. A mechanic at KLM will have to leave early from work,
3. Her brother would call from New York with some good news, and
4. Mack will be killed if she did not stop his investigation....oh, and Gary will be, too.

Mack, meanwhile, has taken Abby to see the very-alive, and very angry Gary at a hotel. He wants nothing to do with her.

When numbers 1, 2, and 3 happen in rapid order, Karen frantically tries to find Mack in order to prevent #4.
Mark places the call to Val, telling her she is needed at the hotel to help Gary. She is told to sit in Mack's jeep
and to wait for Gary to exit the hotel. Karen, though, has been told that there is a bomb in Mack's jeep.

Greg gets on television and announces the existence of the Wolfbridge organization, as well as his "unwitting"
participation in their schemes. He begs the forgiveness of the public.

As Abby and St. Claire arrive together, Gary and Mack are crossing the hotel lobby. Val is in the jeep, and Karen
arrives to announce that there is a bomb in Mack's jeep. Gary runs for Val, then gets shot at by a Wolfbridge hitwoman.
Karen is shot instead. Seeing his plan foiled, St. Claire kidnaps Abby.
