Premise:
David Janssen in this classic from the suave-PI era. First in NY, then in LA.
Famous for the never totally seen character of Sam,
played for a while by Mary Tyler Moore. Also, Barbara Bain has a recurring role
for a short while as Diamond's love interest.
Background:
Beginning on radio with Dick Powell in the lead role, this series wound to
television starring David Janssen.
(Fortunately, Janssen didn't give us a song at the end of each episode, as was
the style in the radio show.)
