Premise:
A police series somewhat like "Naked City" with lots of New York City
locations being used.
"This series paints a tough, realistic portrait of the work of
the New York City Police Department. Filmed on location, N.Y.P.D.
utilizes the highly mobile hand-held camera and stream-of-
consciousness narrative."
"Flute Patrol - Theme from NYPD" Charles Gross and Charles Fox

Email to ctva:
My name is Bob Markell and I produced all of the shows (except the pilot).
David Suskind and Dan Melnick were Executive producers ..a point of
information..
This was the first (I don't know if it was the only) Network Series at the time
to film in 16mm and using hand
held techniques that we now take for granted..It was ahead of it's time and has
been compared to the French
avant-guard films of the period. We had something in common with the
avant-guard..We all had very low budgets
and improvised to get what we got.
