Synopsis:
Jack is unhappy and in a foul mood. Jack's guest is Oscar Levant, pianist, who
does a number for the director,
Don Weis. Jack insults Don Wilson and Oscar tries to figure out what is going on
with Jack. Jack is urged to
go see one of Oscar's doctor. Jack says no and tells about his first trip to New
York to sign a contract. Jack &
Mary had an obnoxious waiter (Frank Nelson) at a restaurant and Jack relates
that Jack sees the same guy at
other places and he always annoys Jack. Oscar talks Jack into seeing his doctor
(Olan Soule). The doctor finishes
with his patient (Frank Nelson) who goes berserk when he sees Jack and literally
climbs the wall. Jack is so pleased
with seeing the guy's reaction to him that it makes Jack feel wonderful and he
feels that he has gotten even with the
guy. Jack tells Oscar to take him home in his Jaguar ambulance. The show ends on
stage with Jack thanking Oscar for
being his guest. [SJ]

Season 9, Episode 11: Jack Goes to Nightclub
Original Air Date—8 February 1959
His sponsor walks out on Jack's show, when his sponsor's in town for contract
renewal, so Jack's
afraid to take him to a nightclub featuring a comic competitor. A puppet show
seems a safe (and cheap)
alternative, but filling in for the sore-throated puppeteer is golden throated
Danny Thomas, whose
charity and charm entrance the sponsor, but paralyze Jack.

Synopsis:
Ed Sullivan, Genevieve, French singer, and Frank Fontaine are the guests as Jack
presents a show from New York City.
In a comedy courtroom scene, prosecutor Sullivan opposes defense attorney Betty.
Genevieve portrays a defendant and
Fontaine the witness. [JB]
Synopsis:
Jack's monologue is about being in New York again. Geneviève sings a song in
French about Paris in the spring.
The sketch is a courtroom drama in which Jack plays the prosecutor and Ed
Sullivan plays Gentleman Jim Sullivan,
the defense attorney, defending Geneviève on a charge of murder; the part
requires Ed Sullivan to do lots of emoting.
Don is the commentator. For the Lucky commercial, Benny introduces into evidence
Luckies found in Genevive's purse,
and Luckies found at the scene of the crime; Sullivan demonstrates that everyone
in the audience smokes Luckies.
