8.01 "Lassie at the Grand Canyon" (09/10/61):
Ruth and Timmy, visiting the Grand Canyon, befriend a blind pianist with a
unique outlook on life.
8.02 "The Bloodhound" (09/17/61):
Timmy and Lassie discover the sad truth about Relentless, Cully's new-- and
much bragged about--dog: he's lost his sense of smell. Cully: Andy Clyde.
Sheriff: Robert Foulk.
8.03 "The Mysterious Intruder" (09/24/61):
The new neighbors accuse Lassie of killing their cat and attacking their
sheep.
8.04 "The Badger Game" (10/01/61):
After Timmy sees Willy's peacock, he too wants to enter an exotic animal in
a pet contest, so he tries to capture a badger. Willy: Linda Wrather.
8.05 "The Outlaw" (10/08/61):
After being hurt in an accident, a police dog turns savage. Sheriff: Robert
Foulk.
8.06 "The Winner" (10/15/61):
Timmy enters Lassie in a raccoon-hunting contest, but she's too busy helping
save the raccoon to win the contest.
8.07 "Heat Wave" (10/22/61):
Cully makes enemies when he and Timmy snap traps meant to keep foraging
animals away from crops during a dry spell. Cully: Andy Clyde. Sam Burke:
Trevor Bardette.
8.08 "The Deer" (10/29/61):
Timmy tries to tame Clementine, the shy doe he has been feeding corn, but
she escapes from him with a rope around her neck.
8.09 "Lassie Adopts the Fire Chief" (11/05/61):
Timmy loans Lassie to volunteer fire chief Ed Washburn after the
department's mascot is killed, but she seems to show more interest in
staying with him all the time than coming home at night with Timmy.
Washburn: Dick Foran.
8.10 "The Pied Piper" (11/12/61):
Timmy raises white rats for laboratory specimens to earn money for his
parents' anniversary present-- but the rats escape into the corn field.
8.11 "Joey" (11/19/61):
Timmy's friend Joey is despondent after he's blinded, until Timmy trains
Lassie to be his guide dog. Joey: Michael Burns.
8.12 "Lassie's Wild Baby" (11/26/61):
Lassie adopts what the Martins think is a kitten from a neighbor's
litter--but is really a wildcat cub.
8.13 "The Dognappers" (12/03/61):
Thieves steal a spaniel belonging to Timmy's hospitalized friend. Sheriff:
Robert Foulk.
8.14 "The Dove" (12/17/61):
Timmy discovers that his new friend Pepe entered the country illegally.
Sheriff: Robert Foulk.
8.15 "Yochim's Christmas" (12/24/61):
While Timmy and Billy Joe are out walking in the woods, they rescue an
elderly man trapped under a sleigh that Billy Joe thinks is Santa Claus.
Billy Joe: Billy Hughes. Ma Yochim: Ellen Corby. Man: Lloyd Corrigan.
8.16 "The Parrot" (12/31/61):
Cully gives Ruth a disreputable parrot as a birthday present, and she fears
hurting his feelings if she tries to give it away. Cully: Andy Clyde.
8.17 "Lassie's Protege" (01/07/62):
Lassie adopts a raccoon that Timmy dubs "Melonhead," but her friendship is
short-lived when a reckless teenage driver kills the animal.
8.18 "The Black Sheep" (01/14/62):
Timmy's black sheep Lucky, his 4H project, runs away and hides in an
immigrant man's flock. Shepherd: Nestor Paiva.
8.19 "The Partnership" (01/21/62):
Timmy and Ed Washburn buy, in partnership, the little colt Timmy found after
a forest fire. Washburn: Dick Foran.
8.20 "The Hike" (01/28/62):
Timmy's hiking partner can't come, so he and Lassie go it alone--until Timmy
is knocked unconscious.
8.21 "Bird of Prey" (02/04/62):
Timmy discovers he can't keep the falcon he nursed back to health and
trained. Ruth's nephew: Jan Stien.
8.22 "Casey" (02/11/62):
A railroad engineer's pet chimpanzee is left in Timmy's care. Enders: Eddy
Waller. Cully: Andy Clyde.
8.23 "The Odyssey" (02/18/62, 02/25/62, 03/04/62)

8.24 "Double Trouble" (03/11/62):
At a big dog show in Capitol City, Lassie is mistaken for a champion showdog
and Timmy and Cully her handlers. Cully: Andy Clyde.
8.25 "Eager Beaver" (03/18/62):
Beavers are damming up water that Paul and Mr. Livermore need desperately
for irrigation, but nothing seems to stop them. Livermore: Stuart Randall.
8.26 "Lassie and the Eagle" (03/25/62):
"Mrs. Eagle" returns to help Lassie and her newborn puppies against a hungry
coyote.
8.27 "The Vindication of Relentless" (04/01/62):
A sarcastic tax assessor insists that Relentless find his missing tax book.

8.28 "The Unwanted" (04/08/62):
Timmy buys a white German Shepherd to give to Miss Hazlit's retired--and
lonely--policeman uncle. Miss Hazlit: Sally Bliss. Russ Conway.
8.29 "The Musher" (04/15/62):
Timmy trains Lassie and a motley assortment of dogs as a sled dog team.
8.30 "Lassie's Good Deed" (04/29/62):
Timmy and Lassie befriend an elderly man whose only companion is his little
mongrel dog, Ruff.
8.31 "Sanctuary" (05/06/62):
Timmy and Cully try to protect a stand of woods from being cleared by having
it declared a wildlife sanctuary.
Cully: Andy Clyde.
Ranger: William Schallert.
8.32 "Lassie and the Calf" (05/13/62):
Timmy and Lassie care for a gruff farmer's cow while he is away, and fall in
love with the calf it bears.
8.33 "Elephant Sitters" (05/20/62):
Timmy and Cully babysit a young elephant named Little Lena. Cully: Andy
Clyde.
8.34 "Lassie and the Tiger" (05/27/62):
Timmy discovers to his horror that a tiger has been stalking him and Lassie.
