Synopsis:
Dr. Welby (Robert Young) has a heart attack whilst coaching a basketball team and must take on another doctor.
His new assistant, the young Dr. Steven Kiley (James Brolin) need convincing by Dr Welby to keep practicing
after he loses two patients and together they help a young boy who can't speak or write. Following a car
accident Lew Sawyer (Peter Deuel) suffers from a medical condition that severely limits his speech patterns.
His wife (Susan Strasberg) suffers from the dilemma of deciding to commit him to an asylum for treatment.
