"This is your life, Bob Hope. Accolades from celebrities--and six
Presidents--complement production numbers and clips highlighting
the career of the legendary entertainer, who turns 90 on May 29. Tonight, Hope
is applauded for--Vaudeville and Broadway: Angela Lansbury
recalls Hope's roots in a segment capped by vaudeville revivalists Bill Irwin
and David Shiner (Broadway's Fool Moon).
Radio: Betty White reflects on Hope's radio days of the 1930s and '40s; Rosemary
Clooney evokes the era with her rendition of "I'll Be Seeing You".
Movies: Hope's Road hits (beginning with 1940's "Road to Singapore") and his
pairings with Lucille Ball are remembered by Tom Selleck and Lucie Arnaz.
TV: The specials that made Hope a legend are surveyed by Johnny Carson, and
Roseanne and Tom Arnold. Also scheduled: reflections on Hope as a hoofer,
topical humorist and USO headliner by Paula Abdul, Garry Shandling and Walter
Cronkite, respectively; songs by Ann Jillian and Bob's wife, Dolores;
