Highlights:
Presents himself in his first comedy special of the season an hour of brittle
humor and solid songs.
It's one of the best efforts for the comedian wlw is
in excellent company with guests Beatrice Lillie (who is mighty funny in a
ribbing of the film, "Cat Ballou" called Tiger Ballou),
Douglas Fairbanks, Jr, (who provides Hope a mean foil in a satire on
astronauts).
Dinah Shore sings "Any Place I Hang My Hat".
Andy Williams solos with "The Way You Look Tonight".
There is also another obvious spoof on the James Bond theme, and Hope's usual
crisp commentary on the news.
*Note: Bob Hope's first variety show of the season. Bob and his guests appear in
various sketches.
Bob Hope begins his 16th season on NBC TV welcomes back Beatrice Lillie who
shared the spotlight on his first TV show in 1950.
Douglas Fairbanks Jr. and Dinah Shore also starred in the 1950 debut are on hand
as well as special guest Andy Williams.

Highlights:
James Garner as a sharecropper trying to get federal aid in a skit with Bob as
the target of a Senator Blohard's war on poverty.
Bob and Phyllis are slightly mad in "The Accumulator" a takeoff on the movie
"The Collector".
Carol Lawrence does a big rhythm dance number and joins Bob in a two-part
college campus skit involving unkempt protest students.
The We Five perform.

Highlights:
Nancy Wilson sings "This Dream" and "I'll Only Miss Him, When I Think of Him".
Busiest of all, of course, is Hope who plays Santa Claus. with a squad of
"elves."
A sketch in which he meets Benny (who is at his Scrooge best) who wants to take
over Santa's "racket."
Bing Crosby sings "Do You Hear What I Hear?"
Old friends Bing Crosby and Jack Benny turn up to heckle Hope. Benny appears as
an unlikely crook
who wants a take over the Santa Claus racket, and Bing has trouble Growing Bob
out of his Palm Springs'
home in the two major sketches of the show. Also, Bob plays a movie star eyeing
politics in a take - off
with Janet Leigh, and Bing Crosby and Nancy Wilson handle the vocalizing between
skits.

Martha Raye and Bob do a "Batman" takeoff in which Martha is Batgirl and Bob is
Lobsterman who tries to catch her with a giant flyswatter.
A spoof on the movie "The Cincinnati Kid" finds Danny Thomas as the Toledo Kid
beating Bob at poker.
Bob "Wheels" Hope is a motorcycle demon in Heck's Angels with Jill St. John.
The Righteous Brothers perform "You Are My Soul and Inspiration" and "Turn On
Your Lovelight".

Synopsis:
Bob's guests for this variety show are comedians Jonathan Winters and Phyllis
Diller, clarinetist Pete Fountain and actor Lee Marvin.
Sketches include “Pagoda Place,” after remarrying a wealthy Japanese woman
learns that her husband is still alive;
“The Putrid Six” stars Bob as a sinister bandit chief and Lee as a sissy
gangster with Johnine Lee as Chiquita;
and a police lieutenant (Bob) investigates Oscar nominee Rock Surly (Jonathan),
who is suspected of murdering the other contenders.
*Note: Bob Hope hosts "The 38th Annual Academy Awards Show" on April
18th, 1966 and Bob also is an Honorary Gold Medal recipient.
*Note: Bob Hope hosts "The Best on Record" NBC awards show on May 16,
1966.
*Note: Bob Hope appears in the motion picture "Boy, Did I Get a Wrong Number!"
released June 1, 1966.
