Synopsis:
Eve reads a 10 year-old copy of "Variety", but mistakes it for that day's
edition.
A front-page article describes the closing of their studio, Consolidated
Studios,
and the studio head, J.B. Hafter, getting fired by New York studio executives.
She publishes an angry goodbye to Hafter in Variety. When the New York execs see
the ad, they have no idea who decided to fire him, but assume he must deserve to
be fired if it says so in Variety, so they really do fire him. Eve later
realizes
her mistake and publishes another ad saying the execs changed their mind and
have
reinstated Hafter. They again figure that this must be the right thing to do,
and
all is set straight. [C.A.B.]
