The Jeffersons relive 1968: George wants to break out of his impoverished life by opening his own dry cleaners,
in spite of the tremendous obstacles thrown in his way by society and the times. In flashback, George struggles to
smother his pride to obtain a loan from a bigoted banker and to persuade Lionel to heed Martin Luther King’s call
for non-violence in the face of oppression.

George tells baby Jessica a bedtime story, and all is transformed into the fantastic medieval Empire hangs in the
balance. George’s frustration at trying to make ends meet against the onslaught of every increasing costs breaks
through in this allegorical tale of daring-do that finds King George and Queen Louise holding court over a loyal
retinue of Baron von Day and Lady von Night (Tom and Helen), Prince Lionel, Princess Jenny and Bentley the Fool,
while evil Inflation batters the castle walls.
