Premise:
Adventures of a divorcee on the make. Sophisticated comedy series noted
for one of the fastest cancelations in television history.
Actress Lee Grant was nominated for an Emmy as "Outstanding Lead Actress
in a Comedy Series", after the series was canceled, and blasted NBC
executives publicly on "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" for
their quick hook.

Debut: After 25 years of marriage to attorney Jack, Fay Stewart is forced to
start her life over again after a divorce. She moves into a new apartment,
starts a new job (as secretary to lawyers Danny and Al) and begins dating,
much to her daughter Linda's consternation. Lee Grant has the the title role
in this series about a middle-aged divorcee's attempts to start a new life,
despite the disapproval of her nagging ex-husband (Joe Silver) and her
strait-laced daughter (Margaret Willock). In this pilot-opener, Fay's family
is shocked when she admits to having an affair. [JK]
