Premise:
In the 1880's a wagon train begins the long journey to California. Thanks to the dim-witted scout, Dusty, a stage and a wagon are separated from the
train and have to make the journey alone. It's up to wagonmaster Callahan, to get his passengers; the wealthy Mr. and Mrs. Brookhaven, dance hall
girl Lulu, sweet young teacher Betsy, and the brainy Andy, there safely, even with Dusty's help. Sound familiar? This short lived series was the
West's answer to "Gilligan's Island", even down to it's star, Bob Denver.

Title Song "Dusty's Trail" by Sherwood Schwartz & Ross Schwartz
Title Song Sung by Mel Street

"Let's follow the path of Dusty's Trail
Oh Dusty's Trail, Oh Dusty's Trail
A stage and a wagon heading west,
part of a wagon train lost from the rest.
Dusty's the reason for their plight,
thanks to Dusty nothin's right.
Only the wagon master's hand,
keeps them rollin' to the promised land.
Oh the goin' gets mighty rough, they don't seem to mind,
it's California that's the place they must find.
Deserts and rocks are in their way.
But they won't stop come what may.
Mountains and hills that they must scale,
but they know they'll make it 'cause they just can't fail - on Dusty's Trail."
