Premise:
In 1862, a strong American schoolteacher, with her young son, travels
to Siam to serve as the personal educator to the King's many children.
Though Anna and the King often clash due to their disparate personalities
and cultures, a respect grows between them.

Yul Brynner reprises the role of The King of Siam he played
in the 1956 musical film "The King and I".

Synopsis:
Anna is hired to be schoolteacher to the royal children. She was promised
her own house in the deal, but the King demands she stay in the palace.
She declines the offer and threatens to leave. The King eventually gives
in and begins work on her house. Meanwhile, The King is outraged at an
article in a British newspaper while calls him a barbarian. Anna suggests
he invite this writer to see the goings-on for himself. The King agrees, and
Sir Edward Ramsey comes to the palace, and his mind is eventually changed.
Note: The pilot episode had a laugh track. [RL]
