Synopsis:
The Normandier was a tramp steamer which was struck by disaster in mid-Atlantic
in 1918. Blackwater fever swept the ship, killing its officers and crew or rendering
them helpless. One of the survivors, wireless operator H.L. Treree, has written
a book about the ill-fated voyage. [RF]
*Note: This strange ordeal was acted out aboard a freighter in the harbor at Bayonne, N.J.
