Synopsis:

Synopsis:
The story of singing and recording star of the 1920's Gene Austin. Gene and
his wife Ruth are giving a farewell party before sailing on a second honeymoon
in an attempt to solve their problems. At sea, a storm arises, and they are appalled
when they hear a radio report that their boat has been lost with no survivors.
Austin hears his own burial service. It has a frightening effect and in a series of
flashbacks, he recalls his meteoric rise to fame. Songs include,
"How Come You Do Me Like You Do?" "Sweetheart of Sigma Chi" and "Ramona". [RF]

From 30-Sep-1957 the series moved to Monday nights on NBC and was reduced to half an hour
and was on film rather than live.
It still alternated with Alcoa but the overall title for the series was "A Turn of Fate",
which was dropped by February 1958.
There was to be a rotating roster of regulars (David Niven, Robert Ryan, Jane Powell, Charles Boyer and Jack Lemmon)
