US Dramatic Anthology Summer 1958

 

This series was the summer replacement series for The Loretta Young Show

Seven of the episodes were pilots for proposed series.

 

One of the latter was a short version of The Virginian starring James Drury,

who played the same role when it became a series in 1962.

Synopsis:
Judge Henry asks the Virginian to investigate mysterious setbacks in his efforts

 to bring a railroad spur branch to his ranch. The Virginian finds logical suspects

in the judge's disgruntled son, the ranch foreman and some ranch hands.

The only helpful person is Dora, the ranch cook.
