Synopsis:
Shoeshine boy Bleeker who hung around a barroom favored by unemployed be-bop
musicians became the butt
of musicians jokes and was called "moron" alot. Solly a particularly
sadistic patron treated Bleeker so badly
that the boy actually thought Solly liked him. A woman berated by her
gangster boyfriend at a nearby swank
restaurant is tired of being berated and slapped around and leaves. Bleeker
who is happily bedded down for
the night beneath a huge rock in the park. Dozing off when the woman appears
and climbs to the top of the rock
ready to jump into the lake below. Bleeker begs her not to jump and tells
her the story of how he loved music
but his head hurt when he tried to think. The moll understood and told him
her predicament, he explains that
the gangster is only doing that because he loves her and needs her and she
goes back to him.
Synopsis 2:
A vagabond shoeshine boy faces a tragic fate as his bar buddies only see him
as an idiot and a clown.
