Background:
Singer-Dancer Donald O'Connor had previously hosted "The Colgate Comedy Hour" (1951-54)
and was probably best known for the film musical "Singin' In The Rain" (1952)

Most Music Variety series were either "Live"/ "Kinescope" or "Videotaped"
"The Donald O'Connor Show" was unusual in that it was shot on Film. (to be verified)
