Synopsis 1:
Frustrated artist Bernie Samuelson takes a job as the ceramics counselor
at Camp Lakeside. The work is unexciting, but he takes heart in the fact
that one of his students, Aaron Gold, shows great promise as a sculptor.
However, Aaron is decidedly un-athletic, and a conflict arises between
Bernie and Lefty, the swimming instructor, because Aaron's devotion to his
sculpture makes him habitually late for his swimming class. The head of
the camp, Lionel Stern, takes Lefty's side, and exerts pressure on Bernie
to see to it that Aaron spends less time on his sculpture--but that he
nonetheless have it completed before parents' visiting day. [RF]
