5.01 "The Storm" (09/07/58):
Timmy and Boomer try to teach Boomer's new dog Mike farm ways, but he seems
unable to learn. Doc Weaver: Arthur Space.

5.02 "Wishing" (09/14/58):
Uncle Petrie allows Timmy to ride a pony at a pony-ride concession, and
Timmy falls in love with the animal.

5.03 "The Teacher" (09/21/58):
Timmy and his classmates adore their teacher Miss Hazlit, and when they find
out she may have to leave because of budget constraints, they try to earn
the money to keep her on. Sam Burke: Trevor Bardette. Miss Hazlit: Sally
Bliss.

5.04 "The Owl" (09/28/58):
Ruth entrusts a fresh egg delivery to Timmy, but he and Boomer are
sidetracked by an aggressive barn ow1 after they try to replace two broken
eggs.

5.05 "The Crash" (10/05/58):
Timmy and Boomer find an injured pilot at the site of a plane crash.

5.06 "The Rocking Chair" (10/12/58):
Lassie forms an attachment to a rocking chair that is destined for donation
to a benefit sale.

5.07 "Fish Out of Water" (10/19/58):
Timmy's plans to keep a trout as a pet run into all sorts of obstacles.

5.08 "Trapped" (10/26/58):
Timmy and Boomer, out hunting for the foxfire they think will keep girls
from kissing them at a Halloween party, are trapped in an abandoned house.

5.09 "Our Gal" (11/02/58):
Paul's new sow turns out to have an unfortunate predeliction for running
away.

5.10 "Lassie's Decision" (11/09/58):
Timmy's plan to help his new friend Henry, who is afraid of dogs, backfires
when Henry mistakes Lassie's extra attention as love for him.

5.11 "The Egret" (11/16/58):
Timmy sees a rare snowy egret, but no one will believe him.

5.12 "The Archers" (11/23/58):
Bow hunters shoot a bear cub and leave it in the forest to die.

5.13 "The Bundle from Britain" (11/30/58):
Boomer is jealous when Timmy seems to prefer the company of his English
visitor, Robin, to him.

5.14 "The Black Woods" (12/07/58):
Uncle Petrie is kidnapped by poachers after he teaches Timmy Indian smoke
signals.

5.15 "The Raffle" (12/14/58):
Tongues wag in the neighborhood after Lassie picks Ruth's ticket as a winner
in a raffle for a piano.

5.16 "The Christmas Story" (12/21/58):
Right before Christmas, Lassie is struck by a car and is so seriously
injured she needs a special vet to operate on her. Willy: Linda Wrather. Doc
Weaver: Arthur Space.

5.17 "The Ladybugs" (12/28/58):
When aphids threaten Paul's crops, Timmy tries to collect ladybugs to combat
the pests--and earn some extra money by selling them to neighboring farmers.


5.18 "Junior GIs" (01/04/59):
Timmy, Boomer, and some other boys are endangered when they wander into an
area where the Army is conducting war games.

5.19 "The Big Cat" (01/11/59):
Ruth, on her way to a grange supper, is caught in a trap set by a state
hunter to catch a marauding cougar.

5.20 "The Tree" (01/18/59):
Timmy and Boomer adopt a tree that was supposedly planted by Johnny
Appleseed.

5.21 "Timmy, the Oil Millionaire" (01/25/59):
When Lassie keeps coming home with greasy muck on her legs, the Martins
discover a pool of oil on their property.

5.22 "Beholden" (02/01/59):
A conniving handyman claims Lassie bit him to get more odd jobs at the
Martins. J. Pat O'Malley

5.23 "Tartan Queen" (02/08/59):
A breeder says Lassie may be descended from a famous show dog and urges
Timmy not to let her run wild.

5.24 "The Horse Show" (02/15/59):
Timmy enters his burro Lucky in a horse show.

5.25 "The Cat Who Came to Dinner" (02/22/59):
The Martins adopt a cat they find half- drowned outside the house, but the
cat, dubbed "Marmalade" by Timmy, immediately starts getting Lassie into
trouble.

5.26 "The Bonnet" (03/01/59):
Timmy and Lassie inadvertently ruin Ruth's new spring hat.

5.27 "The Puppy Story" (03/08/59):
Timmy and Boomer are heartbroken when they find out Lassie's puppies are to
be sold. Jerry: Charles Herbert.

5.28 "The Young Flyers" (03/15/59):
The family pitches in to help Timmy enter a kite- flying contest.

5.29 "The Watch Dog" (03/22/59):
Lassie, staying at a neighbor's house, is blamed for the damage done by a
chimpanzee.

5.30 "The Puppet" (03/29/59):
Lassie falls in love with a hand puppet manipulated by a down-on-his-luck
ventriloquist. Ted Knight

5.31 "Rock Hound" (04/05/59):
Timmy and Boomer suspect that a neighbor is a bank robber.

5.32 "The Charm" (04/12/59):
Timmy borrows Uncle Petrie's lucky charm, but loses it in the woods.

5.33 "Teamwork" (04/19/59):
Timmy and Boomer, already arguing over a team project, are further annoyed
by his visiting cousin Millicent.

5.34 "Stable Mates" (04/26/59):
Lassie befriends both a stray dog and a temperamental race horse.

5.35 "The Camera" (05/03/59):
Timmy's camera, set up in a field to get night shots of animals, makes an
unexpected shot instead.

5.36 "Peace Patrol" (05/10/59):
A poor boy at Timmy's school can't afford to join the newly formed Peace
Patrol and scorns it instead.

5.37 "Swami" (05/17/59):
Timmy and Boomer decided to be fortunetellers at the church carnival.

5.38 "Campout" (05/24/59):
An older boy (Johnny Washbrook), on the run from his family, encourages
Timmy and Boomer to camp out by themselves, but advises them to beware of a bear.

5.39 "Lassie's Guest" (05/31/59):
Boomer leaves Mike in Timmy's care when he goes to visit his aunt.
