Secret Plans for a new jet engine are stolen and the micro-film
copies planted in Charlie Chan's watch while he is enjoying
"The Great Salvos", a brother and sister mentalist act, at a
Washington night club. "The Great Salvos" are used by a foreign
spy organization who threaten the act's parents who live behind
the Iron Curtain. When Charlie's flight to Madrid is cancelled
the agents of the spy organization realise that they must retrieve
the micro-films.

a Casino, where they meet John Benson, a wealthy American. Charlie at

reply sends him to Benson's home immediately. But he finds that
Benson died in a diving accident - or was it murder?

Charlie Chan and asks for his aid. Charlie uncovers several other
people who had both motive and opportunity to kill Margaret's
husband.
