Pam cares deeply about Jock's niece Lucy, daugther of the middle brother Gary
Ewing. Lucy skips school regularly and
stages an incident of rape by one of her teachers. She is also involved in an
affair with Ray. Pam learns for the
first time the "other side" of Lucy that she never knew before. Bobby tells Ray
to stay away from Lucy but Ray doesn't
listen. The two engage in a fist fight at a disco.

J.R. has an affair with his secretary Julie Grey. He treats her like a whore by
trying to pay her and she takes revenge
on him by handing a top-secret file concerning Ewing Oil's business to J.R.'s
mortal enemy Cliff Barnes, brother of
Pamela Barnes. J.R. accuses Pamela of being a spy for her brother in front of
the whole family, and nobody stands up
for her. Eventually, Julie admits having given the file to Cliff after which she
resigns from Ewing Oil. Everybody
apologizes to Pamela and Lucy asks J.R.to give Pam a kiss as a sign of
reconciliation, which he does.
