Premise:
After the Korean War Jimmy Hughes joins the police force after his father also a cop was killed in the line of duty.
Summary:
After returning from the Korean War, Jimmy Hughes finds that his policeman father has been killed. Jimmy joins the force to
find the criminals responsible for his father's murder.

News item:
The DuMont network has dropped the dramatic series "Dark of Night" which gained much attention because it went on location for true
life scenic effects, in favor of a who-dun-it "Jimmy Hughes, Rookie Cop" and there's no comparison. "Dark of Night" was so far ahead
of the new program, which pictures the experiences of a new policeman learning to be a crime expert, that it will have a hard time to
catch up. The opening performance seemed amateurish. "Dark of Night" was a victim of a too frequent situation in both radio and television.
If a sponsor isn't attracted, despite the popularity of a program, something else is given a tryout.
