backwards onto the rails of an oncoming train. Called in to investigate
are Inspectors Beaumont and Dolbel from the Surete. An examination
of the body reveals a 1,000 franc note, a pair of dark glasses,
and a white cup, the sort used by street beggars. A further
investigation reveals a neatly kept ledger recording the daily
takings at the various locations in the French capital. Why should
a beggar keep so neat a ledger especially when a post mortum shows
him to have been blind. [DWMcG]
