Premise:
The Lone Ranger was really a Texas Ranger, named John Reid, who was
the only survivor of an ambush by Butch Cavendish's Hole in the Wall
Gang. Nursed back to health by Tonto (coincidentally, the two had
been childhood friends), he vowed to help bring justice to the West,
and donned a masked (originally to fool the Cavendish Gang)

"A fiery horse with the speed of light, a cloud of dust and a
harty hi-ho silver ...
..."

In town we find the local hotel owner, Newton Larch, has brought in a "confidence man",
Leland Spinner, to whom he admits that he has killed young Austin, because he had
discovered oil deposits on the neighbouring ranches. Larch wants Spinner to pretend
that he's a land speculator, buying up land without revealing the presence of oil.
With one land owner left, "old",Tod Wayburn, the four set in motion a trap, to help
implicate the two land theives. [RHC]
