Synopsis:
Jason and Ellie Tugwell are members of a wagon train heading through
Utah to California in 1864. Their daughter has a fever and the wagon
train leader believes she has smallpox. In the night he steals the
sleeping Tugwells rifle and money and deserts them in Indian country.
A Ute raiding party captures the Tugwells but their unusual blue-eyed
goat named Billy - and Mrs. Tugwell's freshly-baked biscuits earn them
a reprieve from death. The Indians leave, then return with a squaw
who nurses the sick girl while Mrs. Tugwell bakes and bakes. [BH]
Note: This story has NO connection with the outlaw Billy the Kid.
