Stories of US Marshal Sam McCloud of Taous, New Mexico on secondment
to the New York Police Department, much to the annoyance of
Chief of Detectives Peter B. Clifford . The romantic interest is in the
form of magazine writer, Chris Coughlin played by Diana Muldaur who made
frequent guest star appearances in the series.
McCloud continued with
'NBC Wednesday Mystery Movie' beginning 9/22/71 (90 min)
subsequently with
'NBC Sunday Mystery Movie' beginning 10/1/72 (90/120 min)
The pilot was 'Who Killed Miss U.S.A.' (1970)(2 hour tvm)
It was a reworking of the 1968 Clint Eastwood movie 'Coogan's Bluff'

Antiwar scientist Theodore Tragis selects San Francisco International
as the spot to register a horrifying protest against the arms race.
Tragis has tampered with a military shipment, triggering a process that
will soon release poisonous gas. Given only a matter of hours, airport
manager Jim Conrad must persuade Tragis to reverse the process or avert
