for
ABC (Thursdays 8:00 PM ET) (4Oct73-6Dec73)
ABC (Fridays )(18Jan74- 06Sep74)
Executive Producer Roy Huggins,
Produced by Stephen J. Cannell, Jo Swerling, Jr.

US Crime series 1973-74 90 min Pilot + 24? episodes x 60 min color
Starring:
Tony Musante as Detective David Toma
Susan Strasberg as Patty Toma (wife)
Simon Oakland as Inspector Spooner (boss)
*
Sean Manning as Jimmy Peter Toma (son)
Michelle Livingston as Donna Toma (daughter)

Premise:
Exploits of real-life detective David Toma, who worked undercover for the
Newark, New Jersey Police Department.

The real-life David Toma appeared in cameo roles in many episodes, including the pilot,

*Note: "Baretta" was an indirect spinoff of  "Toma" after Tony Musante left
the show. The show was to be called "Toma Starring Robert Blake" but it
was decided that Blake's personality did not suite the image of David
Toma, cop and family man. So it underwent a major retooling and "Baretta"  was born.

"Toma" theme music by Mike Post & Peter Carpenter
