Synopsis:
Stable manager Wally Keel is shot to death in a horse stall. His boss, wealthy sportsman Harley Bernard III, hires Gunn
to find the killer. At first Gunn suspects Frank Rousseau, a gangster who once tried to get Wally to fix a race. The next
suspect is a seven-foot giant who tries to strangle Gunn. After being rescued by Lt. Jacoby, Gunn visits TV exercise personality
Jack LaLanne who identifies the tall man as the "Great Gorza." It so happens that the tall man was a wrestler who once
exercised at LaLanne's "physical culture studio." [TA]
Spoiler:
Gunn and Lt. Jocoby learn that Gorza had been hired by disgruntled ex-jockey Charley Deade to kill one of Bernard's horses.
But Gorza panicked and killed Keel instead. (Two years earlier, the horse crushed Deade's arm.) Deade tries to kill the
horse himself but is stopped by Gunn and Lt. Jocoby. Deade's gun goes off and he is trampled to death by the horse. [TA]

Synopsis:
The manager of teen idol Bobby Jeeter hires Gunn to deliver money to a blackmailer. Gunn then learns of a possible connection
between the blackmailer and the murder of Doris Rainey, who was the hatcheck girl at the club where Jeeter is currently performing. [TA]

Doris Rainey was Jeeter's girlfriend. Mitch Borden, Jeeter's manager, turns out to be both the blackmailer and the murderer.
Borden feared that Doris would learn that Jeeter's voice is electronically enhanced. It's never quite explained why Borden
