LONGSTREET
----------
Sterling Silliphant productions
in association with
Paramount Pictures Television

for
ABC (Thursdays 9:00pm EST)
Executive Producer Sterling Silliphant
Produced by Joel Rogosin

US Detective series 1971-72 90 min pilot + 23 episodes x 60 min
starring
James Franciscus as Mike Longstreet
Peter Mark Richmond as Duke Paige (Bradford Dillman in pilot)
Marlyn Mason as Nikki (Martine Beswick in pilot)
Bruce Lee as Li Tsing
Seeing Eye Dog as Pax

Premise:
Mike Longstreet lost his wife and his eyesight in a bomb blast meant to kill him. But Longstreet refuses to give in, or be
less than what he was -- the best insurance investigator in New Orleans. Along with, and most often over the objections of
his secretary/assistant Nikki and his best friend Duke Paige, (head of investigations for the major insurance company in the
Gulf Coast) Longstreet perseveres in a business, and a world meant only for sighted people.
The premise is outrageous -- a blind private investigator? But anyone familiar with Sterling Silliphant productions knows
his style is aimed at showing viewers a slice of life they normally wouldn't see. This time, we "see" it through Longstreet's
other senses. Bruce Lee, still a relative unknown at the time, guest stars in the first episode "The Way of the Intercepting
Fist" to teach Mike how to defend himself, and move past "accepting" his "condition."
