A lovely guest arrives at the Hawaiian Village Hotel and attracts
the attention of private investigator Tom Lopaka. Shortly after
her arrival, a puzzling series of burglaries occur at the hotel.
The young lady is the girlfriend of a mobster facing a grand jury
in Chicago who has been sent to the islands to keep her from
testifying. The mobsters have also sent a hired killer to silence
her permanently.

From the mainland, investigator Stu Bailey calls to ask Steele
and Lopaka to track down an embezzler who's gone to Hawaii. The
trail leads them to a travel bureau which turns out to be a
front for illicit activities in which pretty native girls are
used in a scheme to defraud and kill wealthy vacationeers.

A law firm in Los Angeles hires Steele to locate Nancy Campbell, who
is missing. Steele discovers the girl's friends apparently are
covering up for her. She's also the target of Harry Gulliver, a man
Steele knew during the Korean War. Gulliver was the machine gunner
on Tracy's plane and had been unable to pull the trigger when they
were attacked by enemy planes. Now Gulliver intends to kill Nancy,
but once again he can't pull the trigger when Steele recounts the
Korean incident.

three owners of the island Cricket's friend has inherited was
murdered while in a diabetic coma.

to save his life, the killers make a second attempt on this life.
