Synopsis 1:
Eleanor Curran overhears part of a telephone conversation between
two men plotting a murder. She contacts the police, but Holbrook is
stymied when she can't identify the men or their intended victim.
Synopsis 2:
A lonely woman gets a crossed line on her telephone. She overhears two thugs
discussing their murder plans - one murder has already taken place, with two
more to go. She reports the conversation to the police, and Sgt. Nelson visits
her to get details. Unfortunately she can't resist flirting with the sergeant,
and this casts doubt in his mind that the crossed line was genuine. Then the
second murder takes place, and it becomes a race against time to identify the third victim. [D. Blake]
