In 1984, Rusty Morris (who appeared on the 03Aug1950 episode) wrote:
"I had enthusiastically participated In several postwar live telecasts, most notably The Ruggles, on ABC, a very popular 1950's show starring Charlie Ruggles and Erin O' Brien Moore. I played their daughter's boyfriend, a sort of archeologist who spouted words a mile long. Charlie Ruggles was an awfully nice man and a joy to work with, his befuddled attitude carefully studied. Erin was an angel whose promising career had been tragically interrupted when she was caught in a fire. Persevering through many painful skin grafts, her beauty was restored and she was gallantly starting over.
"We worked in an all but forgotten and abandoned old silent movie studio which featured
a complete theatre interior Jolson had used for The Jazz Singer and Warner Brothers had utilized for sequences in their Busby Berkeley musicals. ABC had revitalized it and at that time was using it for Lawrence Welk's programs as the stage was larger than anything to be found in an actual theatre . It boasted a giant 1920's- era light board, heater units on the back wall and a legitimate- sized scenery fly . There was even a lower balcony out-front!
"The Ruggles shared its refurbished and huge sound stage with a daily afternoon show called Space Patrol. It was fascinating to spend free time sitting in the rocket ship mock-ups and examining a wide variety of space-age props."

############### Radio Audition ###############
##############################################

In 1957, Charlie Ruggles attempted a radio version of "The Ruggles" with a different supporting cast: Lurene Tuttle (as Margaret), Sammy Ogg (as Chuck), Margaret Perry (as Sharon), Mark Evans (as Donald), and Kathy Garver (as Donna).
Two 15-minute episodes, listed as "audition recordings," are available here:

This radio version doesn't seem to have been picked up by any of the radio networks. (At least it doesn't appear in the New York Times or Chicago Tribune radio schedules.)
