for the second time Florence, Mrs. George Gruskin in private life, gave birth to daughter, Benita, in Mt. Lebanon Hospital, Los Angeles.
Florence, who is 28, plays a 47-year-old mother on the TV show. She's the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Halop, who now live in Kew Gardens Hills.

"Meet Millie"' is a top TV show, with some good gags. Here's one: Millie: "Plenty of girls marry poor fellows."
Mr. Boone: "That's true. If they can't find a man with money they marry one without it and send him out to look for it." [Pittsburgh PA Courier]

[--] 05Oct54 newspaper item:
THE FRIENDLY and talented cast of Meet Millie—seen on WBEN-TV Tuesday evening at 9—was on hand in Hollywood's CBS Television City last week to meet
the visiting press. It was no surprise to find Elena Verdugo, who plays the title role, just as attractive in real life as she is on the screen.
Florence Halop, who plays Millie's mother on the comedy show, did come as a surprise. Miss Halop has to use outrageous padding and makeup in her
character, since she is actually a slender and pretty blonde of 30.
We had a reunion with Marvin
Kaplan — "Alfred Prinzmetal" —with whom we once attended radio scriptwriting courses at New York University. A few years ago Marvin was a $50-a-week
school teacher in Brooklyn; today he's one of TV's best-established character comedians. Kaplan would still rather write than act. But as he explained it,
"I like to eat, too." [Buffalo Evening News, "The News Evening Story" by Sanford Jarrell]
