Premise:
Mabel works in a nail boutique and lives with her mother and younger brother.
Her jealous, insecure boyfriend Joe drives a New York cab for a living. His
best friend is named Mike, and he also drives a cab. Joe loves Mabel, but
constantly evades her attempts to get him to propose. [RL]

Note:
The show has a cartoon open, and each episode begins and ends with Joe in his cab,
talking to the audience. At the beginning he sets up that particular episode, and
at the end he alludes to the NEXT episode. [RL]

Synopsis:

Synopsis:
Joe and Mabel quarrel over whether vocal talent is learned or inborn. Joe thinks
one has to be born with it, while Mabel thinks otherwise. To prove Joe wrong,
Mabel secretly takes voice lessons from a voice teacher named Mr. Caruso, but
jealous Joe thinks she is seeing another man behind his back. [RL]

a newspaper article claims that Mabel is an heiress and Joe comes to the conclusion
that old Stanley has kicked the bucket and left her a small fortune . [RL]
