Hallmark Hall of Fame presents Maurice Evans
Hallmark Hall of Fame presents George Schaefer's Showcase
Beginning in 1955, Hallmark Hall of Fame has been a series of specials

(appearing four to eight times a year throughout the 1960s
The Hallmark Hall of Fame was launched on Christmas Eve 1951, with the world premiere

of Amahl and the Night Visitors, an original opera by Gian Carlo Menotti. Viewer response

was so positive that encores were televised.
The next original production, of William Shakespeare's Hamlet, was broadcast in April 1953.

More people watched Hamlet that evening than had cumulatively seen it in all its live performances

in the 350 years since it had been written.

advent to power plunged England into a strict dictatorship to Milton's disillusionment. Milton once again took
up the pen to denounce Cromwell and, before long, overwork led to the poet's, total blindness. His personal star
continued in descent when Charles II, after his restoration, had the poet imprisoned as a traitor. Despite these
overwhelming setbacks, Milton lived to write the immortal "Paradise Lost." [RF]

Synopsis 1:
When a boy's parents are killed, his grandparents try to raise him,

fearing that their own death is fast approaching. "Mr. Brink," an ominous messenger

from beyond, drops in to pay them a visit and gets entangled in their apple tree. [RF]
Synopsis 2:
The death of young Pud's parents in an auto accident leaves him in

the care of his grandparents. Pud's meddlesome Aunt Demetria wants to adopt

the youngster who, Aunt Demetria has learned, has become heir to a sizable legacy.

Old Gramps has some unconventional ideas of his own about bringing up children,

and he determines to keep Pud out of the clutches of Demetria. This determination

 is challenged by the arrival of Mr. Brink, a pleasant but businesslike heavenly

courier who has come down to earth to request that Gramps accompany him into

 the hereafter. But Gramps isn't ready to go, and he chases Mr. Brink away. Soon,

however, Mr. Brink returns on another mission, and this time he is successful -

he takes Granny away with him. With Granny's death Gramps knows that he is Pud's

 last hope for a happy childhood, and he schemes to prevent Mr. Brink from taking his life. [RF]

Summary:
The story of Anna Anderson, who surfaced in Berlin in 1920

claiming to be the lost princess. Her claim gained some credibility

due to the Soviet government's cover up of the slayings of the royal family in 1918.

 They initially only admitted that Nicholas had been killed. The Soviet silence

was prompted by political considerations, as they did not

want to offend Germany, with whom they had just signed

a World War I peace treaty. Alexandra was, after all, a German

princess before she became a Russian tsarina.

Summary:
Lawrence Devlin is a well known writer, whose efforts to

help people understand different cultures have gained him

the Nobel Peace Prize. On his latest trip into the wilder parts

of the globe, he has gone missing, presumed killed when his

light plane crashed in a remote area of Afghanistan.
Kenneth Canfield, a journalist who also works for British intelligence,

becomes suspicious that something more sinister is going on when

he sees a known Soviet agent breaking into Devlin's London flat.

The novel is basically the unravelling of the Russian involvement in Devlin's

disappearance, as Kenneth juggles the needs of his

espionage work with his developing feelings for Devlin's daughter Sally.
