Drama. A typical Mercer piece about madness and set in the 190's which saw
a middle-aged Yorkshire miner, Robert Bailey, trying to find the key to a
happy life but descending into a nervous breakdown. Leonard Rossiter's first
starring role on television, Rossiter had been on TV before but this was
his breakthrough role - he was only cast at short notice when the actor
originally cast fell ill.. Tapes of the production no longer exist.
