Profile -Actor - Myron Healey imdb

MOST FAN'S OF FEATURE FILMS AND TELEVISION SHOWS, KNOW THE FACE, BUT CAN'T
REMEMBER THE NAME. THE ACTOR THAT FITS THIS SCENARIO IS, MYRON HEALEY.
A HOLLYWOOD ACTOR WITH IMPRESSIVE CREDENTIALS HIS FIRST UNCREDITED ROLE
WAS IN A 1943 MGM MUSICAL TITLED: "THOUSANDS CHEER", THAT STARRED GENE
KELLY AND KATHRYN GRAYSON. FOR THE NEXT FOUR TO FIVE YEARS,

MYRON HEALEY'S CAREER DIDN'T PROGRESS TO QUICKLY, BUT THINGS WERE
LOOKING UP IN 1948 WHEN HE WAS OFFERED MORE ROLES, MAINLY IN B-WESTERNS,
AT MONOGRAM PICTURES AND REPUBLIC PICTURES.

BY THE 1950'S, HE WAS NOT ONLY WORKING IN FEATURES BUT TELEVISION
SERIES TOO. HIS SECOND ENDEAVOUR, BESIDES ACTING WAS WRITING. IN 1951
HE WROTE A SCRIPT FOR A JOHNNY MACK BROWN WESTERN, WHICH HE ALSO APPEARED
IN, TITLED: COLORADO AMBUSH"(1951)(MONOGRAM PICTURES).

HIS SECOND CONTRIBUTION AS A SCREEN WRITER, WAS A SCREEN TREATMENT HE
WROTE FOR ANOTHER JOHNNY MACK BROWN FILM: "TEXAS LAWMAN'(1951).

NEXT CAME A VERY BUSY SCHEDULE WORKING BOTH IN FILM AND TELEVISION THAT
LASTED UNTIL 1994. MYRON HEALEY DID NOT ONLY APPEAR IN WESTERNS, BUT
DRAMA'S, COMEDIES, WAR, SCIENCE FICTION AND JUST ABOUT ANY TYPE OF ROLL
AN ACTOR COULD ASK FOR.

HE WORKED WITH ACTORS LIKE, JOHN WAYNE, KIRK DOUGLAS, RANOLPH SCOTT,
JAMES STEWART, HENRY FONDA, JOEL MCCREA, GLENN FORD AND HUMPHREY BOGART.
WE MUST NOT FORGET ABBOTT AND COSTELLO. HIS FIRST TV SERIES WAS "THE LONE
RANGER"(1949-1957).

THEN CAME A LIST OF TV CREDITS THAT WOULD MAKE ANY ACTOR CRINGE. THE
LIST IS TO NUMEROUS, BUT FOLLOWING WILL GIVE A GOOD EXAMPLE:-
"THE CISCO KID'(1950-1956),
"THE RANGE RIDER"(1951-1952),
"THE GENE AUTRY SHOW'(1950-1956),
"ANNIE OAKLEY"(1954-1956),
"STORIES OF THE CENTURY"(1954-1955),
"THE ADVENTURES OF RIN-TIN-TIN'(1954-1959),
"THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN"(1952-1957),
"CHEYENNE"(1955-1963),
"JUDGE ROY BEAN'(1956-1957),
"SKY KING"(1951-1956),
"SEA HUNT"(1958-1961),
"TOMBSTONE TERRITORY"(1957-1960),
"MAVERICK'(1957-1962),
"WAGON TRAIN"(1957-1965),
"ZANE GREY THEATER"(1956-1961),
"26 MEN"(1957-1959),
"RAWHIDE"(1959-1966),
"CIMARRON CITY"(1958-1960),
"PERRY MASON"(1957-1966),
"BAT MASTERSON" (1958-1961),
"CHECKMATE"(1960-1962),
"SURFSIDE 6"(1960-1962),
"GUNSMOKE"(1955-1975),
"BONANZA"(1959-1973),
"MANNIX'(1967-1975),
"ADAM-12"(1968-1975),
"CADE'S COUNTY"(1971-1972),
"THE INCREDIBLE HULK"(1978-1982).

THIS SHOULD GIVE US SOME FLAVOR OF MYRON HEALEY'S ABILITY AS AN ACTOR.
HE ALSO HAD A CONTINUING ROLE AS DR. JOHN 'DOC' HOLLIDAY ON THE POPULAR
HUGH O'BRIAN SERIES, "THE LIFE AND LEGEND OF WYATT EARP'(1955-1961).
HE ALSO APPEARED IN THE TITLE ROLL OF AN UNSOLD PILOT, THAT AIRED ON
THE ZANE GREY THEATER SERIES. THE EPISODE WAS TITLED, "SEED
OF EVIL (BRADY WAS THE SERIES TITLE). MYRON HEALEY APPEARED IN OVER
160 FEATURE FILMS AND MADE SOME 156 TV GUEST APPEARANCES.
HE RETIRED FROM AN OUTSTANDING CAREER AS A CHARACTER ACTOR IN THE LATE
1980'S, BUT CAME BACK TO DO A FILM TITLED, "LITTLE GIANTS"(1994).
ON OCCASION MYRON HEALEY HAS SHOWN UP AT FILM CONVENTIONS AND
FESTIVALS TO MEET WITH HIS FANS. THUS THE END OF A WONDERFUL
CAREER FOR ONE OF HOLLYWOOD'S PREMIER CHARACTER ACTORS,
MR. MYRON HEALEY.
